How to learn Buteyko

You can be trained in Buteyko method by either attending a Buteyko workshop conducted by qualified Buteyko practitioner or by using DVD package at your home. Both approaches have their own benefits, however they seem to give similar results.

Buteyko workshop

Traditionally, the Buteyko method is taught in a workshop situation. Group sessions generally can provide give better results than individual training. Number of people at the Buteyko workshop is usually 5-10. Attendance of other members of family is normally encouraged. Workshop is given over 4-6 days. Depending on a practitioner participants may be offered further support with the method.

Buteyko DVD package

Alternative way to learn Buteyko method is DVD package. It includes 65 min DVD plus illustrated manual. The advantage of the package is that you can start practicing the method without searching for a practitioner and waiting for a workshop to attend. You may also find that you do not have a local practitioner, especially if you are located in a remote area. DVD package is also price efficient: the cost of it 3-4 times lower than that of workshop. Effectiveness of the package was confirmed in a formal clinical trial.
